Across America and around the world, thousands of coaches and athletes are ramping up for an impactful season of faith-fueled play and spiritual connection at Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ (FCA, www.fca. org) Camps. For the thousands of coaches and athletes who are attending FCA Camps across the nation and around the globe, this camp season promises to help them discover God’s never- fading glory. FCA’s annual summer camps offer a unique environment of “inspiration and perspiration” for those who want to reach their potential through comprehensive athletic and leadership training. Most of all, athletes hear about a God who loves them. To further a coach’s or athlete’s relationship with Christ, both during and after camp, FCA distributes an FCA Bible to every camper.
“Attending FCA Camp has been a lifechanging experience for thousands of coaches and athletes,” said Josh Gilreath, FCA Chief Operations Officer. “These camps provide a remarkable opportunity to equip teams with the knowledge and skills to unite, not just in their sport, but in their relationships with Christ. With this year’s 2025 ministry theme of ‘Glory,’ we are excited for coaches and athletes all around the world to experience how they can discover God’s glory, and how they can reflect that glory beyond their camp journey.”
FCA’s numbers and impact are impressive — a testament to the organization’s steadfast dedication to coaches and athletes. In the summer of 2024, FCA hosted 1,058 total camps, with 557 taking place in the U.S. and 481 held internationally. In all, more than 114,548 campers participated from around the world, an incredible illustration of FCA’s vision and values.
“Our prayer for every coach and athlete that attends an FCA Camp is that God would reveal to them the greatness of His Glory,” said Gilreath.
Six different types of FCA Camps offer competitors the opportunity to reach their potential through athletic, spiritual and leadership training, including Sports Camps (multi-sport and sportspecific camps); Leadership Camps (developing coaches and athletes to be leaders); Coaches Camps (designed to engage. equip and empower); Team Camps (allowing student-athletes to come together to compete); Power Camps (typically for athletes 8-12 years of age); and Partnership Camps (FCA partners with some of the best organizations).
Many professional coaches and athletes have been impacted by FCA Camps, with many giving ringing endorsements for FCA’s influence on their faith journey.
Trent Dilfer, ESPN Analyst, Former NFL QB and Super Bowl Champion, remarked, “When I got to FCA Camp in 1992, I knew all the terminology of the Christian lifestyle. My first experience with Christianity was in fourth grade at Camp Hammer, and Neil Steinhauer as the special speaker. But not until I saw college athletes living a Christian lifestyle at FCA Camp did I realize that I was living a double lifestyle, and I rededicated my life to Christ right before camp began.”
“I truly believe God has chosen to use FCA in a powerful way to reach athletes and coaches,” said Dilfer.
Steve Alford, University of Nevada Men’s Basketball Head Coach and former NCAA champion and Olympic gold medalist as a player, said, “No organization has meant more to me, my foundation and who I’ve been about and tried to become more so than the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. It literally was a life-changing experience because, though I didn’t accept Christ at FCA Camp, it was a camp that made me think a little bit deeper. FCA is always going to be something that I am a total believer in. I am 100 percent on board with the mission of what FCA is trying to do for our young athletes across the country.”
Camps are beginning this week, while hundreds are set for June, July and August. For more information about FCA Camps, go to fcacamps.org.
FCA’s theme for 2025 is “Glory,” based on 2 Corinthians 3:18: “We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit.” FCA reminds coaches and athletes that their identity and value are found in Christ, rather than their sport.
