The Toombs County High School soccer teams split their games with Pierce County and Bulloch Academy last week. Both TCHS teams fell to the Bears of Pierce on Tuesday, but they came back on Friday to sweep Bulloch.

Girls vs. Pierce

The girls fell to the Lady Bears. Toombs fell behind early, and Pierce pulled away to a 7-0 win.

Boys vs. Pierce

It was a tough matchup for the Bulldogs against the Bears. Pierce came out in the first half of the game and took the lead with two goals. They added two more in the second half as they took the win over TCHS, 4-0.

Girls vs. Bulloch

Toombs scored one goal in the first half of the game against the Lady Gators of Bulloch. Aubrey Gay found the back of the net for Toombs to take the lead.

In the second half, it was all defense as neither team could find the net. Aniston Powell had six saves for Toombs in the game as they took the win over Bulloch, 1-0.

Boys vs. Bulloch

It was also a 1-0 game for the boys over Bulloch. The only goal of the game came from Axcel Barbosa off an assist from Osvaldo Tinoco. That lone goal was enough for the Bulldogs to get the win.

Tucker Brodnax had a clean sheet in goal for Toombs as he had four saves.

The Lady Bulldogs are now 5-2 on the season and the boys are 6-2. Toombs kicked off Region play on Tuesday of this week after presstime against Savannah Country Day. They will be back in action on Thursday at Savannah Christian at 5:00 p.m., and then on Friday, they will host Claxton at 5:00 p.m.
