The Vidalia High School boys’ tennis team traveled to LaGrange Friday morning to take part in the 34th Annual Granger Invitational Tennis Tournament. The team came away with a victory over Trinity Christian out of Sharpsburg, but the other two matches were decided by a tie-breaker that went to the opponents.
The boys’ first match was against Lumpkin County, a 3A school in Dahlonega. Larsen Carter played well at 2nd singles and came close to pulling out the 3rd win for the match. However, a tie-breaker for the first set fell Lumpkin County’s way, and the match ended up with the Indians losing 2- 3.
The next match was on Friday evening against Trinity Christian and was dominated by the Indians ina5-0victory. Thelast match of the weekend was against Wheeler High School out of Marietta. Caleb Beck and Larsen Carter won at 1st and 2nd singles, but match-deciding tie-breakers at 3rd singles and 2nd doubles again went the wrong way giving the Indians their 2nd loss for the tournament.
