BPC’s Davis Named AAC All Freshman

Brewton-Parker College's Zahquel Davis, standout freshman wrestler, has been named to the Appalachian Athletic Conference All- Freshman team. Davis, originally from Winter Haven, Florida, has quickly made a name for himself in the collegiate wrestling landscape. Competing as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Freshman of the year, his performance this season included a 3rdplace finish at the AAC Conference tournament and an impressive 23-11 record. Notably, Davis has secured victories against top-ranked competitors, namely #15 Rocco Horvath of Cumberland University and #20 Trevor Stuyvenberg from Indiana Tech. His efforts have earned him a national ranking of 20th.

The nursing major's rapid progress and dynamic skill set have garnered praise from Head Coach Tyler Smith, who expressed high hopes for Davis' continued growth. 'Zahquel has really bought into getting better, and he has very quickly. He is extremely athletic and dynamic and is going to keep getting better as we near the National Championships in Wichita,' said Coach Smith.

As the Barons prepare for upcoming championships, Zahquel Davis' development and performance will be pivotal in their pursuit of excellence. His recognition as a member of the All-Freshman team not only highlights his personal achievements but also sets a high standard for future freshmen at Brewton-Parker College.
