Treutlen Sweeps Wheeler

Wheeler County High School and Treutlen County High School basketball teams played against each other last week on Saturday in Soperton. The Vikings came out on top in both games.

Girls

In the girls game, the Lady Vikings took care of business as they took the win over Wheeler, 49-37.

Boys

Treutlen took a 20-14 lead in the first quarter of the game, but in the second Wheeler went on a run and took the lead over the Vikings. At halftime, the Bulldogs were on top 33-31.

In the third quarter, the teams kept pace, sending the game to the fourth with Wheeler still holding onto their two-point lead, 51-49. But in the fourth quarter, the Vikings overtook Wheeler and pulled away to take the win, 77– 69. This week Wheeler played Turner County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday at home against Hawkinsville at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday at Telfair County at 3:00 p.m.

The Vikings hosted Wilcox County on Tuesday after presstime. They will host Telfair County on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and then will be at Montgomery County on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
