VHS Has Six Lady Indians Named All Region Team

Six Vidalia High School Indians Softball players were named to the Region 3A D-1 All Region Team for the 2024 Season based on their performance during the the Indians’ 2nd place finish in Region play.
Senior Gabriella Royal was named 1st Team All Region for the second straight year. Royal batted .387 in region play with a .500 On Base Percentage, while being second on the team in runs scored and runs batted in.
Senior Miya Howard was named to the All Region Team for the first time. Miya played a pivotal role in the lineup, getting on base at a .300 clip and finishing third on the team in stolen bases.
Deidra Boston was named 1st Team All Region for the second year in a row. The junior outfielder hit .360 in the region with a .579 On Base Percentage and led the team with 14 runs scored in region play.
Junior Laylah Brantley was named 1st Team All Region. She was also on the All Region team as a sophomore. Brantley hit .364 in Region games and led the team in hits and runs batted in.
Two Freshman joined their upperclassman teammates on the All Region Team.
Tori Polke was named to the 1st Team as well as being named Region Freshman of the Year. Polke led the team in batting at .444, while at the same time posting a 7-3 record as a pitcher with a 1.936ERA. Polke also set the VHS strikeout record for a freshman, accumulating 118 Ks.
Elizabeth Sowell was named to the ALL Region Team for 2024. The freshman hit .333 in region games with a .444 on base percentage. Sowell led the team in doubles and finished in the top 5 in hits and average.
