MAKING PLANS — Toombs County Retired Educator Association, Area 5, held their planning meeting on June 14, 2024, for the 2024-2025 year. Those in attendance were (L-R) Edna Shurley, Mary Alice Wilder, Paula Jones, Marlene Tomlin, Rushing Stephens, Lucy Claroni, Judy Hart, Lisa Parker, and Donald Parker. Meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. at the Dr. Mark and Tonya Spivey Public Library (unless otherwise noted). WASHED OUT ROADS – Because of the storms that came through the area on Sunday, May 11, and Monday, May 12, several roads throughout Toombs County have become washed out, leaving several road hazards for drivers.

BRINGING UP GRADES CELEBRATION – Each semester, the Kiwanis Club of Vidalia celebrates students who have shown good character and improvement in their academics with a Bringing Up Grades (BUG) Celebration. This semester, the event was held on Wednesday, May 7.
