The Telfair Center for the Arts, with the assistance of the Music Artist Pipeline, will present the Southern Roots Showcase 2 on June 27. The 7:30 p.m. event will feature four talented female vocal artists, including Kristin Powell from Vidalia. Also appearing will be Rachel Carter, Tori James, and Kendall Shaw.

This will be the Center’s first concert since the installation of the new stage curtains. The Center is located at 119 West College St., McRae-Helena.

Kristin Powell has recently risen into her own as a dominant country singer and songwriter. Having performed with different regional bands over the years, she is becoming well known for her unique country voice and her poignant songs about life and love. She can be found performing in the area with her own group or as a solo artist.

Rachel Carter, a gifted songwriter and musician hailing from Swainsboro, has touched countless lives with her heartfelt and inspirational music. A devoted Christian and dedicated mother of two boys, Carter’s journey is notable for her triumphs and losses. She uses her experiences to craft songs that offer hope and encouragement to those facing their own struggles. A singer-songwriter that performed in a world music band in St. Augustine, Florida, Kendall Shaw is currently building her solo career in Middle Georgia.

Middle Georgia Singer- songwriter Tori James has a strong musical foundation. Her original songs are unique and stand out among songwriters.

Tickets for this event are currently available in McRae-Helena at Ryal’s Pharmacy and Smith’s Pharmacy. Online tickets will be available until noon on June 27 at our. show/pioneer-historicalsociety/ south-roots-2.

Advance tickets are $15 per adult, $8 per young adult; at the door, $20 per adult and $10 per young adult. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. Proceeds benefit the Telfair Center for the Arts/ Pioneer Historical Society.
