Sweet Saturdays Return to Vidalia

The monthly “Sweet Saturday” events in Downtown Vidalia will be returning this Summer, beginning June 8.

These events showcase Downtown Vidalia, as streets are closed to allow the public to walk and enjoy the small businesses, local vendors, live music, and more. Each month, the event will have a theme, and prizes will be given to those who dress for the theme. Downtown Vidalia Association Executive Director Tonya Parker recently announced the themes, which are: • June 8 – Luau • July 13 – Sur6n' USA • August 10 – Team Spirit

• October 12 – Flan – nels & Food Truck Fest Parker also shared that the Sweet Saturday for Sep- tember – slated to be held September 14 – will be Touch-A-Truck, which allows kids and community members to learn more about the public safety vehicles, construction equipment, and more.

“We launched the Sweet Saturday last year, and it really took off. People really enjoyed being able to come out each month, and it brought thousands of people to the Downtown area,” she remarked. “With recent happenings, I think it is more important than ever to support our local businesses, and I’m excited to have this opportunity to encourage that.”
