The Toombs County High School bass fishing team had a solid showing at the GHSA State Championship at Clarks Hill Lake.

The team of Levy Martin and Drew Woodruff, with boat captain Stacey Martin, had the best showing of the three TCHS teams at the event. They caught a full bag of five fish, but one was taken off as it was not alive at weigh in. They still had an impressive total weight of 10.6 pounds. The other two teams competing for the Bulldogs were the team of AJ Bagby and Clayton Williams, and the team of Gracie Landrum and Carlie Richter.

It was a tough day on the lake for all teams involved in the State Championship as strong weather moved through the area with thunderstorms and rain all day of the event.
