Forum

The Toombs County Republican Party will host a candidate forum to allow the public to hear from those running for county offices at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia. The event is free and open to the public.

Lego Club

The Montgomery County Public Library, located at 215 Railroad Avenue in Mount Vernon, hosts Lego Club for elementary school students every Saturday at 11 a.m.

Shoe Drive

The Montgomery County Elementary School BETA Club is collecting gently used shoes to help raise money for local cancer patients. Any size, style, or brand of shoe is accepted as long as there are no holes in the shoes.

Shoes may be dropped off at the school’s front office, located at 900 MLK Drive in Ailey, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday through Friday. For more information, contact BETA Sponsor Whitley King at wking@ montgomery.k12. ga.us.
