The Toombs County High School’s boys’ soccer team has secured their spot in the Elite 8 after a resounding victory, showcasing an explosive offense that netted a total of 9 goals against Berrien County. Leading the charge was Osvaldo Tinoco with a thrilling hat trick, setting the pace for a high-scoring game. Yovanny Zamorano and Braylen Dietrich each contributed impressively with two goals apiece, while Miguel Granados and Omar Andres rounded out the scoring with one goal each.

The defense, consistent in their performance throughout the season, played a pivotal role by maintaining a clean sheet against Berrien County. Their solid defensive strategy has been a cornerstone of the team’s success this year, and it was no different in this crucial match.

With the win, the Bulldogs have a chance to make TCHS sports history for the second time this school year. If the Bulldogs win their Elite 8 game, they will be the first TCHS soccer team to make it to the Final 4, like this year's TCHS boys' basketball team was the first in school history to make it to the Final 4 and the Championship Game.

Toombs played on Tuesday of this week in the Elite 8 after presstime against Drew Charter. If Toombs wins that game, they will move into the semifinals against the winner of the Fitzgerald vs. Felloship Christian game. The semifinals will be played on Friday of this week.

The Lady Bulldogs also competed in the Sweet 16 last week as they faced off with Fitzgerald. Toombs couldn't keep up with the Purple Hurricanes. Fitzgerald scored two goals in the first half of the game and added three more in the second half. The Lady Bulldogs managed a goal in the second half of the game, but lost 5-1 to end their season.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the year with a record of 14-6, and they were 10-4 in Region play.
