The Vidalia High Schooll Indians Track team hit the road on Tuesday of last week to compete at Bleckley County. With rainy conditions, they still turned in some great performances.

Cash Driggers broke the 2 minute barrier in the 800 for the first time running a 1:58.00, and is within reach of the school record (1:57.20) that was last broken in 1981 by Arthur Wise. Driggers has been chasing this record all season, and it looks like it is within his grasp.

Sophomore J'Miya Hunt ran a solid race in the 100m with a time of 12:53. Nolan Wade broke the 11 second barrier in the 100m by running a 10.90. Dashia Ford continues to improve and impress in the 100m hurdles as she ran a time of 15.28. Not to forget the field events, Jarques Mitchell came up with the win and a personal best in the shot put and discus.

Coach Mandy Godbee said, “This team continues to improve and work hard every day. They are an exceptional group of young athletes, it is an honor and joy to coach them day in and day out. I am very excited to watch them complete each week.”
