Last week Bree Wimberly of the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Lady Crusaders basketball team signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play basketball at ABAC in Tifton.

Wimberly was a star player for the Lady Crusaders amassing over 2,000 points in her career at RTCA. She also helped lead the team to the GIAA State Championship this season. Wimberly said, “ABAC is the perfect size school and I love the campus. I am looking forward to this opportunity of starting something new at ABAC. First, I want to thank Coach Jake Wilkinson; he has been my rock since I moved here. He has put so much time into making me the best player that I can be. I want to thank my family and everybody at RTCA for helping me get to this point.”

Coach Jake Wilkinson stated, “We are very proud of Bree, she has been a tremendous player for RTCA and really a fun kid to be around and very coachable. She has done an outstanding job helping to lead the team. We are excited to see her play at the next level and I think she will have a lot of success.”

Her father and ABAC AD/Women’s Basketball Coach Chuck Wimberly added, “I think back to when she was a little girl and how much time she has put in to get to this point. She has worked hard and is very deserving of everything she gets. Hopefully she can pass that along to other young ladies to see that if you dream it, you can achieve it. She had other opportunities to play at other places, but I am happy to see her sign with ABAC. Hopefully she likes her coach.”
