The Vidalia High School Indians baseball team took on West Laurens on Thursday of last week and then had a double header against Bleckley County on Friday. The Indians picked up a win in the first game of the double header against the Royals of Bleckley. vs. W. Laurens

The Indians struggled at the plate with only three hits in the 6-1 loss to West Laurens. Ty Beck, Lawson Lowe, and Brayden McCaw had the only three hits on the night.

Veer Patel took the loss for Vidalia. The Sopomore righty went five innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out seven.

VHS fell behind in the top of the second inning as the Raiders scored four runs to jump in front. They added two more in the fourth inning to take a 6-0 lead. VHS picked up a run in the bottom of the sixth inning, but that was the only one they scored on the day, falling 6-1. vs. Bleckley Game 1 Jackson Berry pitched a complete game shut out allowing one hit on the first pitch of the game while striking out two as the Indians won 5-0 over Bleckley County.

Vidalia had nine hits on the night. Ty Beck and Veer Patel each collected two hits for the Indians. Lawson Lowe also drove in two runs on the night. Mason Toole was the QAB winner going 3- 3.

VHS took their lead in the top of the third inning with four runs. They added one more in the sixth as they took the win, 5-0.

Game 2

Vidalia dropped the six inning rain shortened game 8-4 to Bleckey County.

Carson Ricks took the loss for Vidalia. Braden Mulkey pitched three innings in relief allowing one earned run.

Ricks drove in two runs on the night. QAB winners were Carson Ricks 3-3 and Tucker Mc-Donald 2-2.

VHS took the early lead with two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Royals jumped on top in the bottom of the frame with three runs. Bleckley added three more in the second inning to take a 6-2 lead over VHS.

The Royals added a run in the third and another in the fourth to push their lead to 8-2. VHS came back with two runs in the top of the fifth inning to close the lead to 8-4, but that was as close as they got.

With the split, the Indians move to 5-8 on the year. This week the Indians kick off their Region 3AA schedule with a three-game series with Tattnall County. They played the first game on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home against the Warriors at 5:45 p.m. and then play the third game on Friday at Tattnall at 6:00 p.m.
