TCHS Soccer Has Busy Week

The Toombs County High School soccer teams had three matches last week with both teams winning two of three. The Bulldogs traveled to Savannah Arts on Monday, were at Tattnall County on Wednesday, and then wrapped up the week on Friday as they hosted Vidalia.

Girls vs. Savannah

The Lady Bulldogs lost their only match of the week when they fell to the Lady Panthers of Savannah Arts.

Savannah picked up a goal in the first half, and one more in the second half to take a 2-0 win over Toombs.

Boys vs. Savannah

The boys won their game 2-0 over the Panthers. Toombs scored one goal in each half of the game for the 2-0 win.

The TCHS goals came from Jose Leon and Braylen Dietrich.

Girls vs. Tattnall

The Lady Bulldogs picked up two second half goals to get the win over the Lady Warriors. The goals came from Emerson Powell and from Maritza Zamorano.

Boys vs. Tattnall

The TCHS boys suffered their first loss of the season as they fell to the Warriors. Tattnall took the game by the score of 4-3 over Toombs.

Dietrich scored two goals for Toombs, with Yovanny Zamorano adding one.

Girls vs. Vidalia

The Lady Bulldogs got two goals in the first half of the game and then held off the Lady Indians in the second half to take a 2-0 win.

Powell and Mishi Smith each scored one goal in the game for Toombs.

Boys vs. Vidalia

The TCHS boys rolled to a win over the Indians. Toombs held the Indians scoreless in the game, while the Bulldogs scored three goals in the first half and then four more in the second to take a 7-0 win.

Yovanny Zamarano led the Bulldogs with four goals on the day. Leon, Dietrich, and Axcel Barbosa each scored one goal in the win.

This week Toombs hosted Appling County on Tuesday after presstime. They will play next on Friday when Tattnall County comes to town with the first game starting at 5:00 p.m.
