Wheeler County High School softball standout Ariel Reynolds signed her letter of intent to play softball for East Georgia State College in Swainsboro. She will be joined next year at East Georgia by another one of her teammates, Kayleigh Sanders.

Reynolds was Region Player of the Year and led the team in almost every stat this season.

Reynolds said, “I have played a lot of travel ball in the offseason, just getting out there and working with my dad on the weekends, I have put in a lot of work over the last couple of years to get to this point. I really liked the fact that East Georgia was close to home. When I visited, the coach was just welcoming and so were all the players. It just really felt like a family atmosphere.

I really have to thank my parents for all they have done, my family for all of the support they have given me over the years, and all of my travel ball coaches for the time they have spent. I would not be here without all of them. This is just a great opportunity, and this is something that I have always wanted to do.” Her father and Wheeler Head Coach Cory Reynolds stated, “Just so proud of her for all she has done. She has worked hard over the years, put in the time, and just excited to see what she can do at the next level. She has been a huge asset to our team, and we are sad to see her go, but as a father, I’m just ready to see her take these next steps in her life. She helped lead the team to one of our best seasons ever, and to see her get the awards and accolades was just special as well.”
