Last Wednesday at Robert Toombs Christian Academy on National Signing Day, Landen Sauls signed his letter of intent to play football for Shorter University in Rome, GA. Shorter is a Division II school that plays in the Conference Carolinas.

Sauls said, “I am excited and nervous about this opportunity. It is a different kind of football at that level, but I am ready for the challenge. I really liked Shorter, the atmosphere, and the coaches there. I really have to thank my coaches for all they have done from both RTCA and Tattnall. I have to also thank all of my teammates, my family, and God.”

His mother Lacy Myers stated, “I am very excited for him and this opportunity. Mixed emotions, I am a momma, and want to keep him close, but I know that this is a great opportunity and he gets to live his dream out. It is a great college, he had a few to choose from, but this one fit him best. It isn’t too far off so that is great. Just not a lot you can say without crying, just thrilled for him.”

RTCA Head Coach Matt Meeks added, “Just really proud of him, really happy for him that he was able to get through this season, his senior year, without an injury. He has had to battle, but he made it and big things are headed his way. He is a great defensive player, just has a nose for the football at linebacker. He is going to make an impact at Shorter.”
