Saturday’s road trip to Pulaski, Tenn. proved to be a successful one for the Brewton-Parker Women’s Basketball program as they were able to take down Tennessee Southern for their sixth Southern States Athletic Conference win of the season.

The Lady Barons (148, 6-6 SSAC) were able to return to winning ways, extinguishing the Firehawks (4-13, 3-9 SSAC) for the second time this season in a 66-53 win on the road, snapping a three-game losing skid.

“I challenged our team in a major way last night and this morning,” Head Coach Steve Edwards said. “They responded like I expected, and I am proud of them. We look forward to continuing to improve.”

Madison Evans connected for her second three-pointer of the game with 4:13 on the clock to move the Lady Barons’ lead to 19. Tennessee Southern responded with an 8-2 run over the next couple of minutes to cut the deficit down to 13, but Clay answered with her sixth trey of the game with 30 seconds remaining to close the quarter with a 37-21 lead.
