Toombs Takes 2 From Bacon

The Toombs County High School Basketball teams picked up wins on Saturday at home against the Raiders of Bacon County. The Lady Bulldogs pulled out a close win while the boys dominated their game.

Girls vs. Bacon

In the girls game it was close throughout. Bacon was up 6-4, early in the game, and led 12-8 early in the second quarter.

In the third quarter of the game Bacon was up 2521, and pushed that lead to 32-25 early in the fourth. But TCHS went on a run as they closed the lead to 32-29 with seven minutes to play. Toombs kept up the pressure as they pulled ahead and held off Bacon to win the game 44-42.

Boys vs. Bacon

It was a very different game for the boys. They jumped out to a 17-2 lead by the end of the first period and never looked back. By the end of the first half Toombs was on top 38-5.

In the third quarter Toombs took a 59-15 lead, and the Bulldogs won the game 80-19.

The Bulldogs had nine players score in the game with Dominic Eason leading the way with 22 points. Demetrius Cutler added 17 points in the win.

This week after presstime the Bulldogs were at Bacon County for a rematch. The boys are scheduled to play at Dougherty on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
