The Toombs County High School competition Cheer Dawgs ended their successful 2023 season after competing in the GHSA Co-Ed State Championship on Saturday, November 11.

This season consisted of five regular season competitions, Co-ed Sectionals, and finally the State Championship. The Cheer Dawgs made program history this season with two of the scores brought home in the regular season and placing 7th at Sectionals with a score of 100.5. The stunts that were competed this season maxed out the scoresheet in this category for the first time in program history.

This team bought into and applied the program’s vision of hard work and high standards and with that has set a new standard of excellence that will be their legacy in the years to come.

Coach Tilly Christian said about State, “We are coming home a little bit disappointed that we placed 12th in the State, but before every competition we pray that God would give us the results that we need to grow as a program and a team so we are trusting in Him that He gave us just that. The athletes hit a solid routine that we are proud of and have had an overall very successful season!”

The Cheer Dawgs would like to give a big “thank you” to the school system, cheer parents, family, and friends. The support that was given to this team and program this season has meant the world to them.
