VHS CELEBRATES NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE — November is officially recognized as Native American Heritage Month, and history students at Vidalia High School celebrated their 'Indian' Heritage by researching and constructing original posters on historical aspects of Native Americans. The students made presentations of their research to their classmates, and their posters were displayed throughout the school as VHS honors the diversity of the various people-groups that have built this country. INFORMING THE COMMUNITY – State Representatives Shaw Blackmon, Jaclyn Ford, Leo Chancey, and Leesa Hagan spoke to the community about rural development during an event on Thursday, June 18.
REMOVING A HAZARD – Because of the deterioration and damage of the old Montgomery County Middle School building, which is located behind the Montgomery County Board of Education, the structure will be demolished in the coming month.
