Mt. Moriah Baptist Church is partnering with the Helping Hands Ministry to collect food items for the less fortunate this week. The last day to donate is Friday, November 10.

The church, which is led by Bishop A. Tim Chatman Sr., will be collecting canned goods, dry goods, hams, and turkeys to help supply those in need with a Thanksgiving feast. Donations may be dropped off at the church, which is located at 1855 Sawmill Road in Ailey; those wishing to drop off goods that must be refrigerated, such as hams and turkeys, may visit the church Wednesday night from 6:45 until 7:00 p.m. or set up a drop-off time with Reverend Vivian Hill.

“Our motto is ‘It’s a blessing to be a blessing!’ Our ministry is to help those in need – whether they’re homeless, less fortunate, or just having a rough patch. God says He will provide our needs, and this is one way of God’s providing,” Reverend Hill emphasized. “God’s Word says what you have done to the least of these, you have done unto Me. We want to bless our community!”

The food will be dispersed at the church to those in need on Saturday, November 11, beginning at 10 a.m. until provisions run out.
