BPC Golf At Coastal Georgia

After a sluggish start on Monday, the Brewton-Parker College Men’s Golf team greatly improved on day two at the Coastal Georgia Invite at the Sanctuary Golf Club in Waverly, Ga.

Despite finishing the tournament at 13th in the field, the Barons shaved off 13 strokes from Monday’s first round after carding two-straight 309 (+21) on Tuesday. BPC finished the tournament with a total score of 940 (+76) at the par 72 course.

Brewton-Parker finished 42 strokes above Columbia (S.C.) in 14th while falling four strokes shy of ABAC in 12th.

James Dugan led the charge for BPC with a total score of 231 to finish +15 for the three-round tournament, landing at T45 individually. Dugan shot a 79 (+7) in round two and a 76 (+4) in round three.

Anthony Cecchin had the low round of the day for the Barons with a 74 (+2) and completed the third round with a 77 (+5) to finish at 232 (+16) for the tournament and T51 individually.

Jesper Larsson finished with a total score of 239 (+23) for the two days and landed at 66th in the individual field. Larsson carded scores of 78 (+6) and 80 (+8) on Tuesday.

Nicholas Hofmann landed just behind Larsson in 67th with back-toback scores of 78 (+6) on day two to total 240 (+24) for the tournament.

Mason Westerfield rounded out Brewton-Parker with a total of 242 (+26) after scoring a 79 (+7) and a 78 (+6) on the final day of play in Waverly.

The Barons finished with 143 pars and 25 birdies with Dugan leading the way with 34 pars followed by Cecchin with 30. Cecchin led with six birdies with Westerfield, Hofmann, and Larsson all gathering five apiece.

Brewton-Parker will compete at the Piedmont Invitational on Oct. 1-3 in Clarkesville, Ga. at the Orchard Golf and Country Club.
