RTCA Softball Over VHA

Robert Toombs Christian Academy and Vidalia Heritage Academy met on the diamond last week as the softball teams battled it out. Heritage is just getting their varsity softball program going, and they struggled against the Lady Crusaders.

RTCA jumped ahead with four runs in the bottom of the first inning of the game and then added four more in the second inning to take a commanding 8-0 lead over the Lady

Eagles. In the third inning RTCA plated five more runs to push their lead to 13-0 over VHA. RTCA held in the top of the fourth inning to take the win by the run rule.

Meridith Durden led the way for RTCA with 5 RBI's in the game on two hits. Durden also got the win as the pitcher for RTCA, and recorded 10 strikeouts in the game.

RTCA and VHA were scheduled to play a second game on Thursday of last week, but that game was cancelled.

This week RTCA played Edmund Burke on the road on Monday after presstime. They will host DEA on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.

VHA was at Central Fellowship on Monday after presstime and was at Trinity School of Griffin on Tuesday also after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home against Central Fellowship at 4:30 p.m.
