Franklinia Playhouse Brings The Wizard of Oz to Life

The Franklinia Playhouse will bring the classic book The Wizard of Oz to life this weekend as the group travels down the yellow brick road with Dorothy and the gang.

Leon Stalls is leading the production as the director, and shared the performances are sure to transport audiences to Oz.

Abigail Jordan will play the role of Dorothy, with Evie O’Connor serving as her trusty canine sidekick, Toto. The pair will be joined by their friends from Oz: the Scarecrow (played by Hannah Ray), the Cowardly Lion (played by Austin Morris), and the Tin Woodman (played by Ben Bennett). Kaitlyn Oxford will stir up trouble as the Wicked Witch of the West, while the Good Witch of the North, played by Alyson Sikes, guides the group to the Wizard of Oz, played by Kenan Ash.

Performances of the production will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 10, and Friday, August 11, with a final performance at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 12. Tickets may be purchased online from the Franklinia Playhouse website, or at the door of the show. For more information, call 912-2935060.
