2023 Global 6K for Water — World Vision is a Christian global humanitarian provider of clean water in the developing world where nearly 1,000 children under age 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by contaminated water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene. This organization is focused on providing clean water and sanitation to the most vulnerable populations in the hardest-to-reach places in the world. Six kilometers (or 3.7 miles) is the average round trip distance a person in the developing world must walk to find water that is often unsafe to drink. In this yearly event, volunteers symbolically walk or run that distance to raise money for this cause.
