Robert Toombs Christian Academ's soccer teams traveled to Hinesville to face off with First Preparatory Christian Academy on Monday evening for their last Region game of the season.

Girls

The girls had a high scoring game dominating the field for the entire match. Senior Amily Mixon had 4 goals, junior Addie Walden had 1, freshman Madaline Wolfe had 1, senior Marly Dryden had 1, and sophomore Kylie Acosta closed out the game with 2.

Boys

The boys game followed the girls contest and proved to be a high energy 80 minute rematch of the 2022 State Championship Game. FPCA is the defending State Champs, and the Crusaders were ready to end their season on a high note.

Junior Aaron Hankerson was fouled in the box only 15 minutes into the game. He scored his penalty kick, giving the Crusaders an early lead. Ten minutes later FPCA scored to tie the game 1-1. With 7 minutes remaining in the first half, junior Drew Vaughn assisted senior Zach Reaves on a shot to bring the crusaders ahead 2-1 going into the half.

The second half proved to be a defensive battle with senior goalkeeper JaShaun Powell making several solid saves. The Crusaders fought hard and held onto the 2-1 victory to finish out their Region with a win.

The Lady Crusaders were on the road for the first round of the State Playoffs against Westminster Christian in Watkinsville on Tuesday after presstime. The boys play Georgia Christian in their first round matchup with that game also after presstime.
