It was a busy week last week for the Robert Toombs Christian Academy baseball team as they played four games. They picked up wins in two of those contests. They started out the week against First Preparatory Christian Academy on Monday and then played Vidalia Heritage Academy on Tuesday. On Thursday they got a win over Frederica Academy and on Friday picked up a win over Edmund Burke Academy. vs. FPCA

FPCA got on the board first with a run in the top of the first inning. They added two more in the fourth to take a 3-0 lead over RTCA. The Crusaders picked up a run in the bottom of the fourth inning and then added another in the sixth to close the lead to 3-2.

But in the top of the seventh inning FPCA plated two more runs to pull ahead to a 5-2 lead. RTCA couldn't get anything going in the bottom of the final inning as they fell, 5-2. vs. Heritage

It was a low scoring game between the Crusaders and the Eagles. Heritage scored the first two runs of the game in the top of the first inning, and that was all that they would need. The pitching on both sides got into a rhythm and didn't allow a single run over the remainder of the game. That gave the Eagles to win over RTCA, 2-0.

vs. Frederica

RTCA got back on track with a close win over Frederica Academy on Thursday. RTCA plated a run in the first and then another in the second to hold a 2-0 lead. Frederica scored three runs in the top of the third inning to jump ahead, 3-2 over RTCA.

The Crusaders tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fifth inning, and then scored two more in the sixth to go ahead, 5-3. Frederica did manage to get one run across in the top of the seventh inning, but RTCA stopped them there to take the 5-4 victory. vs. EBA

RTCA rolled to a win over the Spartans on Friday. EBA did score a run in the top of the first inning, but RTCA came back with four in the bottom half to jump ahead, 4-1. EBA added a run in the second inning, but RTCA answered with two more to lead 6-2 over the Spartans.

RTCA plated one more in the third inning, and EBA added one in the fifth to make the score 7-3. The Spartans then scored three in the top of the sixth inning to close the lead to 7-6, but five more from RTCA in the bottom of the inning pushed their lead to 12-6. RTCA held in the top of the seventh inning to win by that score.

Rayce Sharpe led the way with 3 RBI's, and Dawson Pinkard, Gage Brantley, and Cayden Nance each added 2 RBI's for the Crusaders.

This week RTCA played Citizens Christian on Monday and then a double header with Memorial Day on Tuesday after presstime to wrap up the regular season.
