Toombs Runs At Jeff Davis

On Thursday of last week the Toombs County High School track and field teams competed in their second meet at Jeff Davis High School. There were six teams that competed, including the Bulldogs. Teams included Jeff Davis (host), as well as Bacon County, Brantley County, Dublin, and Telfair County.

Overall, the TCHS track and field athletes performed well. The girls saw wins and top three performances in several events including: Girls Long Jump – Corneisha Bullard; 3rd; Girls Discus – Shaylin Stringer, 2nd; Girls Shot Put – Shaylin Stringer, 3rd; Girls 4×200 Meter Relay – Toombs County, 2nd; and Girls 1600 Meter – Bryleigh Woods, 2nd.

In the boys events; the Bulldogs saw wins and top three performances in following: Boys 300 Meter Hurdles – Erick Stevens, 2nd; Boys 4×800 Meter Relay – Toombs County (Moses Young | Jarvis Monereau | Ethan Harrison | Ethan Story), 2nd; Boys Long Jump – Akeem Holland, 1st; Boys High Jump – Gavin Fletcher, 2nd; Boys Discus – Brock Nobles; 3rd; Boys 110 Meter Hurdles – Erick Stevens, 2nd; Boys 100 Meter Dash – LaGonza Hayward, 3rd; Boys 4×200 Meter Relay – Toombs County; 2nd; Boys 1600 Meter Run – Moses Young, 3rd; Boys 4×100 Meter Relay – Toombs County A, 1st; Boys 200 Meter Dash – LaGonza Hayward, 1st and Akeem Holland, 3rd.

Toombs will be back at Jeff Davis this week as well.
