arrival, deputies were provided with video footage of the incident which showed the offender, later identified as Andrew Grimes, 21, of Lyons, driving a black Ford F-150 truck and allegedly committing the crime.

An hour later, Deputy Patlan located Grimes, who was still driving the truck alongside a male passenger, Brian Cronan, and conducted a traffic stop. Other deputies and Inspector Clark arrived at the stop and determined Grimes to be the offender of the incident on Jim Gordy Road.

As Grimes was placed under arrest, Deputy Patlan discovered he was in possession of methamphetamine. Grimes was transported to the Toombs County Detention Center, where he remains with charges of Burglary, Felony Theft by Taking, and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Investigator Clark spoke with Cronan, who informed him of the location of the stolen items at Cronan’s residence on Stewart Lane. The pair returned to the location and found that Grimes had hidden various stolen power tools and construction equipment at Cronan’s home.

“We would like to thank Deputies Wardlaw, Williams, Patlan and Investigator Clark for the fast and diligent effort in solving this investigation,” Captain Jordan Kight commented.
