Treutlen Vikings Drop Two
It was a tough week for the Vikings baseball team of Treutlen County High School. They lost to Vidalia Heritage Academy on Monday and then fell to Jenkins County on Thursday.
Vs. Heritage
The Vikings took the early lead in the bottom of the first inning with three runs, but those were the only funs they would score in the game. Heritage picked up a run in the top of the third inning and then two more in the fourth to tie the game at 3-3. The game remained tied through the seventh inning, sending it to extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning the Eagles of Heritage put together a rally and scored five runs to jump ahead 8-3.
Heritage held in the bottom of the frame to take the win, 8-3.
Vs. Jenkins Against the War Eagles of Jenkins County on Thursday, the Vikings fell behind and couldn’t catch up. Jenkins took the win 11- 2.
This week Treutlen took on Wheeler County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Thursday at home against Wheeler at 6:0 0p.m., and then on Friday in Alamo at Wheeler at 6:00 p.m. to wrap up the Region series.
