Wheeler Takes 2 From MCHS

The Wheeler County High School Bulldogs baseball team took on Montgomery County twice and Johnson County last week. The Bulldogs picked up easy wins over the Eagles of Montgomery in both games, but fell to Johnson.

Vs. Montgomery

Wheeler broke the game open in the top of the second inning on Tuesday in Mt. Vernon. Wheeler scored six runs to jump out to a big lead. They added one run in the top of the third inning to lead 7-0.

Wheeler plated four more runs in the fourth inning to go ahead 11-0 on the Eagles. MCHS scored a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, but it was all they would get in the game. Wheeler added 11 more runs in the top of the fifth inning on the way to a 22-1 win.

Vs. Johnson

Johnson took the early lead in Wrightsville on Wednesday with two runs in the bottom of the first inning. Neither team scored over the next three innings, but in the bottom of the fifth the Trojans added two more runs to lead 4-0.

The Trojans plated three in the sixth and then held in the seventh to win the game 7-0.

Vs. Montgomery

On Friday Wheeler won over MCHS in Alamo. They again rolled to a run rule victory. Wheeler won the second meeting 14-0.

The Bulldogs are now 3-3 on the year. This week they will host Tattnall County on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
