Team Vidalia In Athens
IT’S SATURDAY IN ATHENS… as thirty local gymnasts of TEAM VIDALIA of Vidalia Gymnastics & Cheer traveled to Dawg Country to attend the MADE IN THE USA 2023 Invitational hosted by Rockdale Gymnastics. With over 2000 gymnasts competing from all over the country, the event was held February 17-19 at The Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. The annual competition helps military families by not only raising awareness, but also providing support for The Wounded Warrior Project and The Fisher House. These two fantastic causes are dedicated to the support of those who give and sacrifice so much for our very way of life and our liberty! Several teammates made a weekend of their time in the Classic City by watching the GYM DAWGS Gymnastics Team take on Alabama Friday night, competing on Saturday and finishing it off with a UGA Cheer Camp, where the girls performed at halftime! Whew, it was a great weekend to be a Dawg … and TEAM VIDALIA GYMNAST!

“We are so proud of our girls,” said team coaches Hannah Williams and Hayden Williamson. They continued, “We are returning to the excel program this year and that was a big adjustment for our team, and like so many athletes in our area, the girls of Team Vidalia continue to put in the work, and we see constant improvements every week.” The girls will continue to train and prepare for their next upcoming competitions as they work toward state in April. Gym Owner, Robin Nance comments, “We are a blessed community, not only by the talent and commitment of our gymnasts, but our gym-families and supportive community. They work hard to represent us well… and they’ve done a phenomenal job these past 25 plus years”.
