VHS Scrimmages Charlton

The Vidalia High School baseball team is heading into the 2023 season as the defending State Champions. They got things started with a scrimmage game against last year's Class A State Runner-up, Charlton County.

Both teams had solid pitching on the day with Walker Moncus, Tucker McDonald, Carson Ricks, and Morgan Moye. Vidalia struggled to get the bats going, though, as they got just one hit on the day, which came from Cason Banks. The game was scoreless through the first four innings, but in the top of the fifth the Indians got a run across to take the lead, 1-0. But in the bottom of the frame Charlton put together a few hits as they scored two runs to take a 2-1 lead.

Those were the only runs scored in the game as the Indians fell to Charlton.

This week Vidalia will open up their regular season on Friday at home against Bleckley County with the first pitch at 5:45 p.m.
