BPC Cross Country Picks Up Win at 16th Annual Sand Shark Invitational

The Brewton-Parker College Men’s Cross Country team picked up the first win in over two seasons with a top-place finish at the 16th Annual Sand Shark Invitational hosted by South Carolina- Beaufort.

The Barons earned the first-place honor with a team score of 39 points with a total time of 2:25:31 to beat out three other teams on Saturday morning.

DeMario Thomas led the way with a fourthplace finish with a time of 28:27.7 followed by Briley Reyes in fifth with a time of 28:29.3. Jacob Hackenberry completed a time of 28:37.9 for seventh while Hunter Milhollin finished 10th with a time of 29:05.8.

DJ Christensen produced a time of 30:50.7 for 14th place followed by Mason Smith in 15th place with a time of 30:50.9. Chris Smith earned the Barons’ last points with a time of 31:13.8 for 16th in the field.

Jordan Hackett finished 17th with Eric Smith in 18th followed by Teddy Ortiz in 20th.

Brewton-Parker now preps for the SSAC Championship in Danville, Ala. on Nov. 4.
