BPC Falls To Life University

Brewton-Parker College volleyball continued SSAC action on Saturday afternoon with a match against Life (Ga.) in Gillis Gymnasium. The Lady Barons (1-18, 1-11 SSAC) fell short against the Running Eagles (107, 7-5 SSAC) in a 3-0 sweep.

The Lady Barons fought in the opening set but slipped up in a 25-18 defeat. BPC produced seven kills on a 0.57 hitting percentage while Life opened with 17 kills and a .293 hitting percentage.

The Running Eagles began to hit their stride in set two by winning, 25-15 before securing the match in straight sets with a 25-13 win in set three. Life notched 49 kills for a .362 hitting percentage while BPC notched just 17 kills and a .047 hitting percentage. Kaitlin Reynolds, Jala Merriweather, and Naomi Taake all produced four kills each. Katy Mathis produced 11 assists and nine digs followed by Tanner Lallmann, as well as Kinsley Jordan, with eight digs each. The Lady Barons host Blue Mountain (Miss.) on Oct. 21 at 7 p. m.
