Toombs Runs At Cochran

On Thursday of last week the Toombs County Middle School and High School Cross Country teams traveled to Cochran to run in the Bleckley Invitational. Both teams ran well, considering the weather.

TCHS Coach Jeremy Moore said, “It was a really warm day for a race in October. Bleckley has reworked their course to make it probably the most difficult course we run on, outside of the state course in Carrollton.

“Looking down the finishing times, no one from any school hit PRs today. Taking all that into consideration, most of our runners ran well today. Several of our guys ran some of their better times of the season, and our girls were not far off from their better times for the season. As we are winding down, hopefully we can begin tapering off and peak as we head into the Region Meet.” In the middle school race, TCMS had several in the top and finished 3rd overall on the boy’s team out of 18 teams. Their top-place finishers were Juan Luna in 1st place, Dalton Kight in 6th place, and Jeffrey Perez in 19th place out of 198 runners. The Middle School only has one race remaining, which is the State Meet in Cochran this Saturday.
