The Brewton-Parker College basketball teams have released their schedules for the upcoming season.

Lady Barons

The Lady Barons have 28 official contests scheduled with one exhibition on the slate as well. Brewton-Parker’s season opener is scheduled for a neutral matchup against Virginia- Lynchburg in Marietta, Ga. on October 28 with the home opener set for Nov. 10 against Voorhees (S.C.). “We are excited about our group for this season,” Head Coach Steve Edwards mentioned. “We were able to bring in four talented transfers to add to our core group who were difference makers at their previous schools.” “We are talented, but I’m more excited about our leadership and experience in this group,” Edwards said. “Our program returns four student- athletes that have been All-Conference selections, and we believe that our leadership along with experience will be the strength for our group this season.” BPC’s slate includes 12 home contests with 17 on the road. Brewton-Parker’s Southern States Athletic Conference opener is set for Nov. 17 against William Carey (Miss.). Barons

A new era has begun for Brewton-Parker Men’s Basketball, as Head Coach Leonard Epps and staff have announced the upcoming 2022-23 schedule. The Barons have 28 official contests scheduled with a pair of exhibitions slated as well. The season opener for BPC is set for Nov. 3 against Paine (Ga.) in Mount Vernon. “My staff and I are excited to finally get things going with practice starting on Sept. 22,” Coach Epps said. “Playing in a loaded conference like the Southern States presents so many challenges, and we felt like we did a solid job of creating a good non-conference schedule.”

“Having a mix of Division I and Division II exhibition games helps to challenge our guys early,” Epps added. “We also felt it was good to create a regional matchup with Paine from Augusta. As for Voorhees, they look the most like teams in our conference, and having them scheduled will prep us for what is to come,” Epps mentioned. “Lastly, we are excited to play in the first year of the SSAC and Sun Conference challenge.”

BPC’s slate includes 13 home contests with 17 on the road. Brewton-Parker’s Southern States Athletic Conference opener is set for Nov. 17 against William Carey (Miss.). BPC’s conference schedule includes 10 SSAC matchups in Gillis Gymnasium and 10 matchups on the road. Lastly, the pair of exhibitions for the Barons will take place on Nov. 14 at NCAA DI Kennesaw State (Ga.) and on Nov. 22 at NCCA DII Embry-Riddle (Fla.).

Brewton-Parker returns a few players from the 2021-22 campaign but boasts a roster full of fresh faces for this upcoming season. In addition to the newest student- athletes, BPC holds a completely new coaching staff to lead alongside Epps in Assistant Coach Jovan Coleman and Student Assistant Deon Williams.
