TCHS Esports Primed For Season

The Toombs County High School Bulldogs Esports team finished their preseason last week with a solid showing in both titles. The Bulldogs kicked off the preseason on September 8 with a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe win over Chattahoochee High School of John’s Creek, Georgia. Team captain Tyler James led the Bulldogs in this match, finishing in the top three in all 12 races against the Cougars. The Bulldogs began their Splatoon 3 season on Tuesday, September 13 with wins over Harlem High School and Peach County High School. The Bulldogs played perfect 3-0 matches in these contests and were led by Splatoon Captain Christian Smith and Jack Williams in individual scoring. The Bulldogs finished the preseason with an undefeated record and tied for 2nd place in the GHSA state rankings.

Toombs picked up two more wins in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Thursday, September 15, this time over Tattnall County and Savannah Christian. The Bulldogs played perfect 2-0 matches over the Warriors and Raiders. The Bulldogs finish the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe preseason with an undefeated record and tied for 1st place in the GHSA state rankings.

Toombs will open regular season play Tuesday, September 27. The Bulldogs will participate in Splatoon 3 on Tuesdays and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Thursdays throughout the regular season which runs until the week of November 17. Head Coach Tyler Corley said, “We are very excited about our results from the preseason and the momentum we now carry into our regular season in both titles. We look forward to competing in Mario Kart and Splatoon 3 this season.”
