VPD Searches For Suspect In Hit-and-Run

The Vidalia Police Department (VPD) is requesting information from the public after Mark Page, 59, received a head injury after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle in Vidalia on Sunday, August 14.

Officers were dispatched to 701 Montgomery Street at around 11:03 p.m. on Sunday because of reports of a hit-and-run collision between a vehicle and a bicycle. Upon arrival, law enforcement spoke with the crash victim who said he was traveling west on Lee Street (between Morris Street and McIntosh Street), when he was struck by an unknown vehicle from behind.

Page’s injuries were severe, causing him to be transported to the Air Evac Lifeteam 91 helipad, which flew him to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for treatment.
