reported to have sustained serious injuries.

According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), Baker was traveling south on Gibbs Bridge Road, a dirt road outside of Uvalda, when he rounded a curve at the same time as Willis, who was traveling northward on the road. GSP stated that Baker was traveling too fast for the conditions, which caused him to lose control of his bike. Willis attempted to stop his truck to avoid the collision and slid approximately 30 feet before striking Baker.

Baker was thrown from his vehicle and traveled 7 feet west of the original location of impact. His dirt bike traveled around 10 feet before becoming wedged beneath Willis’s truck, which also traveled 10 feet north upon impact. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Toombs-Montgomery EMS, AirEvac, and GSP all responded to the incident around 12:22 p.m. on Friday. Upon completing an investigation of the accident, GSP determined that the event was caused by Baker’s speed, loss of control, and road placement. He was issued a single citation as a result of the incident.
