Your Mind

Got a complaint? Got a compliment? Call Your Mind On Line at 537-6397 and let us know what’s on your mind. Quotes are printed exactly as they are called in and are not necessarily factual, but rather, callers’ opinions. Libelous, slanderous, personal attacks, and unfounded accusatory or lengthy comments will not be printed. Two calls per week per caller, and calls should not exceed 30 seconds, please.

“I want to thank the City of Lyons for having the American flags out every year on Flag Day. They had them out yesterday morning at 7:00 a.m. when I drove downtown coming to work in the City of Vidalia. I know in 2019, 2020, 2021 or 2022 the City of Vidalia had NO flags out on Flag Day. Shame on y’all. I am proud to be an American.”

“I am calling to complain about the groundkeeping at the Lyons Lower Cemetery and Lakeview Memorial Cemetery. I’ve called the owner multiple times and there’s always an excuse as to why the grass hasn’t been cut. It is so disrespectful to our loved ones who are buried there. Can’t something be done? If he can’t afford to keep it up, he needs to sell it.”

“I agree with the

caller who mentioned that in the 50s, 60s, 70s, kids would get their behinds tanned if they violated the rules. They paddled their kids. We need to bring corporal punishment back to the home house, school house, jail house, and prison house. That will help this country out.”

“Of all the sayings in the world, the one to see you through, is never trouble trouble until trouble troubles you.”

“Why doesn’t the city buy the old Pizza Inn and open it back up and have a sitdown buffet like it used to be, and let the old generation have a place to sit down and eat pizza. There’s nowhere to sit and enjoy a pizza in Vidalia except your own kitchen table. Please, somebody open the Pizza Inn and bring back the pizza buffet.”

“In passing our Vidalia police station, I saw a young man carrying a sign, I guess for punishment for some crime he committed, but I noticed he had a cell phone underneath it, looked like he was texting. Does the Vidalia Police Department allow this?”

“I totally agree with the June 15 Your Mind on Line comment to Mr. & Mrs. Democrat to vote to be sure to vote for him again and maybe you’ll be living in the woods. Keep it coming. I totally agree.”

“I live on Maple Drive. I’m so tired of cars driving by our house with music blasting so loud that my pictures and fixtures on the wall vibrate. Is is necessary to have that loud music like that? Please tell me what can I do?”

“Heads up, folks. The Verizon store out by Arby’s now charges a $29.95 customer service fee when you go inside and talk to someone about a cell phone issue. I’ve never been charged anything when I’ve gone inside before. They say it’s the policy of new owners. This is just another instance that customer service has disappeared.”

“Monkey pox cannot be contracted except directly bitten by a monkey. This report is from the CDC in Atlanta.”

“Dollar General in Higgston, be a good neighbor and pick up your trash.”

“I remember when Bernie Sanders hated millionaires with all his might until he became one. Now he hates billionaires.”

“I found out today the reason we don’t have enough police officers. They are not paying a decent salary. I think the public needs to get involved.”
