Dalley & Whited All-State

The Vidalia High School Indians basketball team saw their dream run end at the GHSA Quarterfinals with a 67-53 loss to Northeast Macon. The season, which saw the Indians run off 25 wins in a row and their first Region Championship since 2015, paid off for a couple of Indian seniors Wednesday when they were named to the GACA All- State Team. Senior guard Ty Dalley was named the Co-Player of the Year for the AA South team, while Senior Wing-man Bryson Whited received All- State honors. Dalley, who shared the POY Honors with Northeast's Travion Solomon, averaged 18.5ppg and 5.1rpg while being guarded by the opponent's best defender on most nights. The 6'3” guard also led the team at the free-throw line, shooting 75.4%. The senior, who is headed to Mercer to play Baseball for the Bears, was understandably excited about the news, 'I'm truly honored to be selected as the south's AA co-player of the year! I've worked so hard for so long, and to see the work I have put in be recognized is an amazing feeling. Thanks to my outstanding teammates and coaches for all they have done for me.'

His Coach and Dad, Tommy Dalley, said that any award his son/player receives is well deserved, 'The kid deserves every accolade he receives. He has put in so much time in the gym over his four years. We are super proud of him. His academics, athletics, and leadership are a credit to him and his work ethic.' Whited, also a senior, has signed to play baseball for Georgia College and State University.

The 6'1” shooting guard for the Indians made a big impact this season with timely threepointers and his solid defense.
