Two Members of VHA Literary Team Get Top Honors in State Competition

Two members of the Vidalia Heritage Academy Literary Team garnered top honors in state competition in Macon on Friday, March 11. Emily Jarriel placed first in Humorous Oral Interpretation. She won second place in regional competition in that category. Rylee Toole won first place in Dramatic Oral Interpretation. She also placed first in regional competition.

Julia Beacham placed second in state and regional competition in Piano, and Reese Neal placed second in state competition and second in regional competition for Spelling.

Casen Jones placed fourth in state competition and second in regional competition in the International Extemporaneous Speaking category. Also among the seven team members placing at the regional level and going on to state competition were: Liliana Kersey and Maggie Hilton, who placed second in the regional Duo Oral Interpretation competition.

Other members of the team placing at the regional competition hosted by VHA on March 2 were: Kate Jarriel, Girl’s Solo, third place; Liliana Platova, U.S. Extemporaneous Speaking, third place; and Rilyn Rodgers, Impromptu Speech and Personal Essay, third place in both; and, Emily Monroe, Rhetorical Essay, fourth place.
