Mrs. Janice Fulmer

Mrs. Janice Marie Connell Fulmer, age 70, of Vidalia died on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was born and raised in Vidalia and lived most of her life in Treutlen County. She worked for many years for Piggly-Wiggly in the Vidalia store. Her former coworkers, friends and family can all attest to her love for life, laughter, good stories, good food, and good music, especially if accompanied by dancing.

Janice was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She loved taking the lucky young people in her life on fun trips with destinations both far (Niagara Falls and the Bahamas) and near (the Zoo, the beaches at Panama City, Tybee Island, and Daytona) and everywhere in between. She also loved cooking for her family and friends and having them come to eat with her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Arizona and Claudie Bell Connell, her sister, Betty Bryant, and her brothers, Arizona “Junior” Connell, Jr., Hershel H.C. Connell and Richard Connell.

She is survived by her two sons, Mitch Fulmer and wife Mary Jeanne Peterson Fulmer of Ailey and Tracy Fulmer of Dublin; her grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Fulmer and Mitchell Fulmer of Ailey; her five brothers and sisters, Tommy Connell of Statesboro, Nadene Foster of Vidalia, Neal Connell of Vidalia, Bobby Connell of Lyons, and Rebecca Miller of Vidalia; numerous nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Vicky Daniels of Augusta; and an adopted daughter, Cristie Newman.

The funeral service was on Thursday, March 10, at 12:00 noon, in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Brian Durden officiating. Burial followed at the Bazel Connell Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:30 until just prior to the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bazel Connell Cemetery Fund, 2014 Bear Creek Road, Mount Vernon, GA 30445 or to the Ailey United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 7, Ailey, GA 30410.
