BPC’s Schultz Sets Record

Brewton-Parker College track and field student- athlete Brandon Schultz opened his time at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Brookings, South Dakota with a finals- qualifying mark in the 60-meter hurdles on Friday afternoon. That moved Schultz to the finals after running a season-best time of 7.98 seconds in the event. With the time, he bested his heat and ran the second- fastest time of the day in the semifinals.

Schultz successfully defended his National Title at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Brookings with a record-breaking performance on Saturday.

Schultz secured backto- back titles in the 60-meter hurdles with a National Meet record time of 7.80 seconds. With the title, Schultz is now just one of four NAIA student-athletes to successfully complete back-to-back title runs in the 60-meter hurdles.

Before this weekend, Schultz did not record a sub-eight second time in competition for the season. On Friday, he ran his best time of the season to make it to Saturday’s finals. He then closed out his senior indoor campaign in record fashion.

Schultz will now look ahead to the outdoor season as he will help lead the Track and Field program to more success.
