Barons Fall To Reinhardt

The Brewton-Parker Men’s Wrestling program faced No. 5-ranked Reinhardt (Ga.) on the road on Thursday, falling to the Eagles, 40-9. Thursday’s dual began with Deejay McNeal knocking off the No. 5-ranked grappler at 125lbs. McNeal downed Koby Milner with a 9-4 decision to give BPC an early 3-0 lead. Reinhardt captured the lead with a win at 133, as Michael Land took down James Stoudenmire via fall (3:19) to lead 6-3. At 141, Reinhardt's Dawson Bates defeated Bradley Owens with a 13-1 major decision to lead 103. Levi Bishop was taken down at 149 by No. 1-ranked Cole Luallen via fall (2:00) to give up six points to the Eagles. With a 16-3 lead, Reinhardt picked up 12 points with forfeit wins at 157 and 165.

No. 9-ranked Cole Tenety of BPC defeated No. 12-ranked Douglas Peppers with a 4-2 decision, picking up three points. At 184, No. 8-ranked Kyle Homet upset No. 3-ranked Lucas DeSilva with a 9-8 decision to earn Reinhardt another three points.

The dual closed with Jacob Henderson taking down Jonathan Whiting with a fall (2:13) for the Eagles’ final points of the night followed by BPC's Wilkinson Saul pinning Ruston Robinson (1:25) in his debut for Brewton-Parker as Reinhardt finished leading 40-9.

The Barons returned to Mount Vernon to host St. Thomas (Fla.) on Saturday night for Senior Night.
