Three Wins For Vikings

The Treutlen County High School Vikings basketball teams took on Johnson County and Telfair County last week with the girls splitting their games and the boys winning two close ones. vs. Johnson

The girl’s and boy’s games were decided by a total of just two points on the night with Treutlen winning both contests. The Lady Vikings were up first, and they came out with a close win, 50-49, over the Lady Trojans.

Up next were the boys and this game also did not disappoint as the Vikings pulled out the win. They won 71-70 over the Trojans for the sweep on the night by the Vikings. vs. Telfair

Up next were the Trojans of Telfair County on Friday night in McRae. The Lady Vikings had a tough night as they fell to the Lady Trojans, 89-46.

The boys won another close game. Telfair jumped out to a 22-13 lead by the end of the first quarter. In the second the Vikings closed the lead down by a little and at halftime the Trojans were on top 34-27. In the third quarter the Vikings went on a run as they outscored the Trojans 29-11. That put Treutlen on top 56-45. Telfair tried to come back in the fourth as they went on a run, but the Vikings held them off to get the win, 70-67. This week the Vikings were at Hawkinsville on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Wednesday with the girls starting at 5:00 p.m. On Thursday the girls will be at Montgomery County for a 5:00 p.m. matchup. On Friday the Vikings will host Wheeler County with the first game tipping off at 6:00 p.m., and the final games will be on Saturday as they travel to Montgomery County at 6:00 p.m.
