Eagles Pick Up 2 Wins
The Eagles of Montgomery County High School took on Wilcox County, Telfair County, and the boys played Treutlen last week. The MCHS girls split their games with the boys getting a win over Telfair.
Girls vs. Wilcox
MCHS was at Wilcox on Tuesday of last week, and the Lady Eagles ran away with a win. The MCHS girls jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter of the game and extended that lead to 41-10 by the end of the first half. In the third the Eagles kept up the pace and were leading 57-19 heading to the fourth quarter. MCHS took the win 68-23 over the Lady Patriots. MCHS was led by Makyla Bell with 19 points, Marley Bell added 11 points, and Amire Banks scored 8 in the win.
Boys vs. Wilcox
The boy’s game was a close one, but the Patriots came out on top. MCHS played them tough but lost the game 58-52.
Girls vs. Telfair
The Lady Eagles played a close game with Telfair but lost by just two points. MCHS led the game 8-4 at the end of the first quarter. In the second MCHS extended their lead to 19-11 heading to halftime. Telfair started to find continued from page
their rhythm in the second half. In the third they began to cut into the MCHS lead. The Lady Eagles were on top 32-26. In the fourth quarter Telfair outscored the Eagles 23-15 as they took the lead and the win, 49-47.
Boys vs. Telfair
The boy’s game was also a close game, but MCHS came out on top in this contest. The MCHS boys took the win, 64-61.
Boys vs. Treutlen
On Saturday the MCHS boys hosted the Vikings of Treutlen. It was another tough game for the Eagles as they lost to their rival. Treutlen took the win, 70-63. This week MCHS was at Dooly County on Tuesday after presstime. They will be back in action on Friday when they host the Bulldogs of Wheeler County at 6:00 p.m. Then on Saturday they will be at Dublin at 6:00 p.m.
